The VA recently released the draft access standards that will define how veterans will be able to access health care under the new community care program created by the VA MISSION Act. This is a major step toward giving veterans more health care choices and making the VA more veteran-centric.
These proposed standards – which are simple, straightforward, and similar to those successfully used under the military’s TRICARE program – will better integrate the VA with community health care providers, fix structural issues with the VA’s outside care programs, and ultimately improve access to care while expanding health care options available to veterans through the VA.
Veterans sacrificed under the promise they’d be taken care of when they took off the uniform. Let your legislator know veterans deserve more health care options through the VA MISSION Act!
