For more than 18 years our brave men and women have been serving in Afghanistan with no end in sight. They’ve continuously put their lives on the line, despite having accomplished the original objectives of our deployment years ago.
Roughly 14,000 troops are deployed to Afghanistan with far more serving in Iraq, Syria and other nearby countries. As tensions in the Middle East continue to rise, those troops are put in more danger each day.
Our nation’s interests are not best served by leaving our troops in isolated bases on missions no longer critical to our safety and vulnerable to attacks.
With the current crisis with the COVID-19 pandemic, it's even more imperative that the United States get serious about ending our forever wars so we can focus on more important domestic and foreign policy issues.
