Support the Defense Acquisition Streamlining and Transparency Act
Today, the Pentagon has no mechanism to buy military goods efficiently or at competitive prices because the defense acquisition process is outdated, cumbersome, and bureaucratic. There’s a lot of red tape, and it unnecessarily drives up costs and wastes taxpayer dollars.
Fortunately, Rep Thornberry (R-TX) has introduced a new bill that would streamline and modernize the acquisition process and allow the Department of Defense to buy military goods more quickly and at better prices. It does this by allowing the Pentagon to operate more like a business, speeding up the auditing process, empowering data-driven decisions, incentivizing better planning for defense acquisitions, and pushing the Pentagon to make more responsible personnel decisions.
All of these changes would improve our military readiness, strengthen our national security, and drive down defense spending – one of the biggest structural drivers of our national debt. Join us in telling lawmakers to support the Defense Acquisition Streamlining and Transparency Act!
