Protect and Defend the Nation

The first and most important role of our government is providing a strong national defense.

As part of Concerned Veterans for America’s 2019 legislative agenda, we are going to advocate for a strong military that makes smarter decisions on spending and use of force.

We’re calling on our lawmakers to:

• Authorize another round of Base Realignment and Closure to shift unused or underused resources to military readiness efforts.
• Promote transparency on Allied Burden Sharing so we have a clearer picture of what our allies are contributing to the common and so we can make better foreign policy decisions.
• Re-examine the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force so Congress has more oversight of where we use our military resources around the world.
